Inc. in Dakota. Location of Mines: Ruby Basin, Dakota (printed at top center). No. 454, issued for 200 shares to Ed Hall in Deadwood in 1891. Signed by Seth Bullock as president and the secretary (illegible). Signatures are lightly pen cancelled. Maroon and blue border, maroon print. Times Steam Printing House, Deadwood. Horizontal fold, clean. 6 x 9.5" Seth Bullock was the first sheriff of Deadwood and ran a hardware store. He arrived in Deadwood the day before Wild Bill Hickok was shot and killed. Bullock became close friends with Teddy Roosevelt, and later became US Marshal for South Dakota. This company owned claims in the Bald Mountain group including the Ruby Bell, Richmond, and Patrick Henry.
