Cancelled in red for transfer to stock 181 on November 5, 1883 to J. Tognini. Signed again by J. E. Jones. Small Nevada seal vignette. AL Bancroft printers. Tear upper left. Nicks bottom of border. Overall nice! The company was incorporated in September of 1882. Incorporators were JE Jones, HK Mitchell, James Kyle, J McDermott, JN Williams, M Walsh, E Loony, Thomas Wethered, MM McDermott, Hank Knight, J Heubner, TE Shine, E Bluett and CM Mikel. This is one of those mines that seemed to last for a while . The Copper Handbook of 1904 notes that at last account they were driving a tunnel 2,200' between the Richmond and Conner mines. Couch & Carpenter [Nevada's Metal and Mineral Production] reports the Conner as a producing mine and the Richmond as being the second largest producer in the district. Despite the mine's longevity, Couch & Carpenter did not show any production for the Ruby Hill Tunnel and Mining Company. Jones was the 9th Governor of Nevada. Mitchell was defeated by William Sharon for Congress in 1875. Tognini is a legendary Eureka name. Historical background notes on all three names and the mine.
