Rules of Discipline of the Yearly Meeting of Friends, held in Philadelphia. Printed by Kimber, Conrad & Co. in 1806. This is a book contains a code of discipline for Quakers to abide by. This particular copy has been modified with the addition of newspaper clippings throughout. Late 19th century newspaper clippings about Quakers have been pasted and tucked into several pages. However, these newspaper clippings do not cover any of the original text. Other additions to this book include handwritten meeting notes in the back pages. The first page of these meeting notes has been ripped out. There is also a letter tucked into this book. It was written by Clara Eaton to her husband, Orville Eaton in 1871. This is a rare book with some interesting additions that make it a one-of-a-kind piece. 5.5 x 8.75 inches. Binding is in poor condition; pages are still intact. There is also a xerox copy of a portion of the book included in this lot.
