Debenture #329 for L 10 Sterling, issued to Thomas George Nicholson (London) on March 24. Three coupons attached. Red print on parchment paper. It has a red, embossed, one-shilling revenue stamp. Signed by two directors and the secretary. The property was a British-financed gold mining company that operated a 40-stamp mill and cyanide plant. It later reorganized as the New Russell Gold & Exploration, Ltd., and acquired holdings in Colorado. Like other early British mining certificates, it has neither a vignette nor a border. 16 x 16.” Debenture is very fine. Four remaining coupons are bent and folded. This is a very important mining location. (Al Adams Gold Rush Memorabilia Collection) Date: 1887 Location: Cripple Creek, Colorado HWAC# 55066
