Lot of 9. 1) Three different billheads. a) 1887 pictorial billhead for SJ Hodgkinson & Co., Druggists and Apothecaries. Billed to Pierce Evans for various prescriptions. Vignette of mortar and pestle. b) 1905, SJ Hodgkinson to Miss L. Joy for prescriptions. c) 1909 to Ed Robb for hair tonic, tooth brush, malt, and more. 2) 1903 prescription slip. 3) 1908-09 calendar advertising booklet for Russian Corn Remedy, prepared and sold by S.J. Hodgkinson. Toning and soiling. 4.25 x 2.5" 4) Tradecard for Dr. Jayne's products, stamped SJ Hodgkinson. 5) 1880 State Controllers Warrant to Hodgkinson, signed on the reverse. 6) Unused letterhead. 7) Knight of Pythias application card for Chas. Bath recommended by SJ Hodgkinson. 1892. Samuel J. Hodgkinson came to Carson City in 1860 as a young boy. He worked for other Nevada druggists such as OP Willis and John Myers. He moved to Reno in 1882, working for Myers until 1883 or 1884 when he bought the drug store. He sold the drug store and retired in about 1925.
