Stock certificate 33 for 10 shares to GW Keith on June 10, 1863. Signed by E Ezekiel and EG Dension. Large US 25c stamp. Signed by Keith on reverse. Located in the Monitor Mining District, El Dorado County. On March 16, 1864 Alpine County was created out of El Dorado County. This mining district was part of Alpine County. Five mining districts (or so) had been established by September 1863 in this region: Silver Mountain, Monitor, Raymond, Mogul and Alpine [Jackson 1964:11; Reed 1864]. Probably the most important mining district in Alpine County was the Monitor District, located in the steep canyon of Monitor Creek. In "Statistics of Mines and Mining in the States and Territories West, 1869" nine mining operations are mentioned. The Sacramento is not one of them. As a matter of fact, we found no information on the Sacramento Mine. Some light folding and a minor dog ear on top right. Other than that it is in fine condition.
