Lot of 2 Original Saddlery Catalogs and 3 pieces of rare ephemera. 1) Catalog No. 59 Fred Mueller Saddle and Harness Company, 1413-19 Larimer St. Denver, Colorado. June 1, 1931. Softbound in light green, 122 inside pages printed in grayscale on semi-glossy off white paper. Filled with a massive variety of tack and saddlery complete with illustrations or photographs of nearly every item. 6.25 inches x 9.5 inches. Excellent condition. 2) Chas. P. Shipley Saddlery & Mercantile Co. 47th Anniversary Catalogue No 25. Kansas City, Mo. 1932. Soft bound in yellow, this catalog is addressed to a customer and stamped and cancelled on the back. It was mailed to a man in Utica, N.Y. 35 inside pages plus two additional pages of products on the inside covers. Printed in grayscale on semi glossy off white paper. Photographs or detailed photo-like illustrations of every item with every product detail included. A wide variety of goods. Cover is a little dirty, creased down center of front, some minor marks. Edge is worn, but overall very good condition for age. 9.5 inches square. 3) Page from War Department publication of correspondence dated 3-27-1856. General Orders, No. 4. of the Secretary of War S. Cooper. Regulations for the Ordnance Department to pay saddlers the same as soldiers on extra duty, and a description of how to arrange payment and account for for it. 4.5 in x 6.
5 in. 4) R. Sherlock , Manufacturer and Importer of Saddles, Harness, Saddlery Hardware, Collars, ?Carriage Trimmings, California Trees, Leather, etc. etc. Corner of Front and Oak /streets. Handwritten invoice for Mr. W. Corbett. on billhead with illustration of stirrup, dated Aug. 5, 1886 in Portland Oregon. Items listed include leather and other materials. 7 in x 8.5 in. One significant lateral crease causing a small tear at right edge, staple holes top left, slight discoloration, otherwise very good condition. Same as above but half sized and dated 3-15-1865 with pictorial of saddle, stirrups, bits, harness, switch, lead rope, etc. on billhead. 4.5 in x 8 in. Excellent Condition. Impressive original ephemera and catalog group on saddleries.
