# 20 for 50 shares to Isaac Josephi. Signed by CC Chaffee and president A Rhodes. Dateline Virginia 1864. Gold Hill Mining District. Incorporated December 1863. Waterfall vignette (which would be more closely associated with Lake Tahoe) . Agnew & Deffebach printer. Red underprint '$200,000.' Not cancelled. 25c Power of Att'y Revenue Stamp. Two pin holes. Otherwise very nice! The 1864 Nevada Directory lists the Sam Patch in the American Flat District. There was also a Sam Patch at Esmeralda and Lake Tahoe. Rhodes is an interesting person. In 1860 he started a stage line from Placerville to Carson. Rhodes Marsh is named for AJ Rhodes. AJ Rhodes incorporated the Western Nevada Railroad (to become the NCO) with the purpose of developing Rhodes Marsh. Bio on Josephi and Rhodes. Notes on the Sam Patch and an interesting story who Sam Patch probably was. City:Gold Hill, Storey Co. State:Nevada Date:1864
