Over 150 pieces: letters, receipts, statements, advertisements (from banks, attorneys, brokers, insurance companies and many more), deeds, Declaration of Intention for Citizenship, Certificate of Naturalization, Last Will and Testaments, U. S. Circuit Court docs., Corporation License Tax, State of California, bond coupons (1856/70), photos( H. H. Haight: Haight never held public office of any kind before he was elected Governor of California on the Democratic ticket, beginning his term of office in 1867. He was the first governor to use the offices in the California State Capitol in Sacramento. He signed the Act, March 23, 1868 creating the University of California. After he was governor he made his home in Alameda, California. He died in 1878. Though it is commonly thought to be true, Haight Street in San Francisco may or may not have been named after Haight himself since it is thought by some that the street was indeed named after his uncle, the pioneer and exchange banker Henry Haight (1820 – 1869).
