Number 22 for 36 shares to Charles Hosmer. Datelined San Francisco 1863. Signed by secretary Blood and president Van Reed. Incorporated December 10, 1862. Beehive vignette. "Esmeralda District" in red underprint. Hosmer was first noted as being on the Comstock on September 29, 1860 (when it was still the Utah Territory) when he purchased 20 feet of the Copperas Tunnel claim. In 1863 the San Francisco directory lists Van Reed as a real estate agent in San Francisco. Real estate agents in those days often dealt with Nevada mines.
