Rare Gold Rush era bond. No. 84, issued for $1,000 to DC Haskin on October 22nd, 1859. Resolution passed by the California Assembly in April 1857. Signed by the county clerk, county treasurer, county auditor, and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Black border, green seal, and multiple vignettes including a train passing by a building with a flag that says "Depot, SF&MR." No printer listed. Six coupons attached. Toning/discoloration (more obvious on the reverse), folds, rough edges. 13 x 13.75" The route would run from Marysville across the Feather River then south-southwest to cross the Sacramento River near Knights Landing. Then southwest to Vacaville to a landing near Vallejo. From there, paddleboats would provide extended service to San Francisco.
