Low cert. no. 7, issued in 1895 to a group of trustees including AB Spreckels. Signed by Claus Spreckels as president and the secretary. Stamp cancelled. Green border, black print, and nice locomotive vignette. 7.2 x 11.25 Claus Spreckels was a major industrialist in Hawai'i during the kingdom, republican and territorial periods of the islands' history. He also involved himself in several California enterprises, most notably the company that bears his name, Spreckels Sugar Company. The San Francisco and San Joaquin Valley Railroad was a California rail line between Stockton and Bakersfield constructed in the late 1890s and very shortly thereafter purchased by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad and became their Valley Division.
