Rare. Great name for a mining company! Inc. in Wisconsin. No. 555, issued for 10 shares to Frank Lamberson in Chicago in 1878. Signed by president Kennedy and the secretary. Not cancelled. Black border, silver seal, green background, and small allegorical vignette. 3.25 x 7.75" Deep folds, stains. Not in C&L. In E&MJ (October 1878), it is reported that the company owns the Prince of Wales Mine (near the Mountain Queen), "ore runs over 150 ounces, and there are two and a half feet of it." In 1879, the company had a rich strike on the Loma Lode near Animas Forks. (The Colorado Miner (Weekly), March 29, 1879)
