Lot of 2 different. 1) Cameron Gold & Silver Mining Company. San Juan County, Colorado (printed under title). Inc. in New York. No. 59, issued for 40 shares to JG Fuller in 1882. Signed by vice president Luther H. Buell and secretary RA Olmstead. Not cancelled. Ornate black border and gold seal. No vignette. Deep folds, some waviness. 7 x 10" Not listed in C&L. The Solid Muldoon (Weekly) (December 9, 1887) says the company owns the Forest Mine in Poughkeepsie Gulch. 2) Davenport Consolidated Mining & Smelting Company. Inc. in New Jersey. No. A87, issued for 100 shares to CO Cooper in 1881 in NY. Signed by president Douglass and treasurer J. Todd. Not cancelled. Brown border, black print, and vignette of two miners working underground. Pinholes, folds. 7.25 x 11" Not listed in C&L. However, Fossett (1880) notes: "The Davenport Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company owns the following locations of 1,500 feet each: the Wicker on the same vein as the Red Cloud, the Davenport on the same vein as the Bill Young, the Ashtabula on Houghton mountain and the Palermo all lodes of great size and evident value. These are being opened by shafts and an adit is being driven on the first. The Wicker has a vein of solid argentiferous galena four feet wide. It is said that the entire Palermo vein twenty inches wide averages 60 ounces in silver, but some of it has assayed as high as 600 ounces. The Ashtabula pay vein is two feet wide. These three veins carry an average of 50 per cent of lead."
