Lot of 3. Issued in 1911 (two different) and 1913. All printed on cardstock. Two issued to AG Wild, AT&SF Ry. One is a 1911 Limited Pass for transport between Los Angeles and Barstow. This railroad, incorporated in 1901 was the first attempt at a direct route from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City. It is largely responsible for the development of Las Vegas, which was built along the tracks. Behind the rail were the Clark brothers (William and J. Ross) who had made their fortune in Montana mining operations. W.A. Clark was looking for a way to send his Utah copper ore to the ports of Southern California. Clark bought the Stewart Ranch and Las Vegas Springs, situated in the future site of Las Vegas. Trains reached Vegas by 1905, and Clark auctioned off many plots of land that were the building blocks for the future city. The two brothers also used Vegas as a main depot to launch a rail line to their mining interests in Nevada (the Las Vegas & Tonopah).
