Rare Early New Mexico Territorial. Incorporated in New Mexico, 1889. New Placers District. No. 20, issued to Bernard Warner for 10 shares on Sept. 10th, 1889 in San Pedro. Signed by Blake as secretary and RM Johnson as president. Not cancelled. Embossed seal. Vignette of a deer. Unique black "chain-like" border with black print. Few minor holes throughout the certificate with yellowing at the creases, pinholes, and slightly torn edges. 8.5 x 10.25" The San Pedro Placer Mining Company may be an offshoot or beneficiary of the water ditch brought by the San Pedro and Canyon Del Agua Mining Company to their mines on the Tuerto. The Golden City Placer Company operated nearby, and may have also been related. (Burchard, 1885, p387).
