Lot of 11 including stocks, checks, and photographs. 1) Sandstorm-Kendall Consolidated Mining Company. Two issued stock certificates, 1910 and 1923. Neither cancelled. Green background and eagle vignette. Folds. 2) The Sandstorm-Kendall Extension Mining Company. Stock No. 154 issued in 1909 for 1,000 shares. Not cancelled. Very ornate border and underground mining vignette. Folds. 3) Sandstorm Extension Mining Company. Two different stock certificates issued in 1905 and 1908. Neither cancelled. Pinholes, folds. 4) Two different checks for the Sandstorm-Kendall Cons. MC. Issued in 1916 and 1921. 5) 1917 letterhead from Wirt & Know Mfg. Co., Philadelphia, sent to the company about assessments on stock. 6) Three modern photo prints. One shows the Kendall Mine Dump; another shows the Sandstorm Mine Dump; and the last is a reprint of a c.1909 view of both mines. 6 x 11" The Sandstorm claim situated about 2 miles north of Goldfield was staked on December 2, 1902 by Messrs Stimler and Marsh and according to popular tradition was the first mining location in the district. Other claims in the group owned by the Sandstorm Mining Company are the Kruger, Magnolia and Stimler fraction. Efforts to find ore were at first unsuccessful and it was not until December 1904 that JR Davis, JP Loftus and AH Mayne lessees found rich ore and began shipping.
