Ultra-rare certificate. Early number 11 for 120 shares to T. P. Flint. Signed by Henry Baker and (?) president. Dateline San Francisco, March 1, 1864. Cancelled March 17, 1864 - two weeks later. Incorporated January 9, 1864. Cancelled. 25c Power of Att'y revenue stamp. Native American vignette. WB Cook & Co. printer. Light staining, small tears, wrinkles. Good condition. The certificate, however, states that the district was located in Esmeralda County. This is a geographical error on the cert itself. It is the only certificate from the San Antonio Mining District in Esmeralda County as it was incorrectly identified! It would have been incorporated in one of the original counties - Humboldt - that filled the area of central and southern Nevada. However, with the creation of Nye County on February 15, 1864, the Santa Clara Mining Company found its final resting place there. The district is first mentioned in the Gold Hill News on November 18, 1863. Two pages of news from the San Antone (San Antonio) Mining District.
