Frances Salazar (1936-2002)
Measurements: 2"diameter at base x 4" tall x 3" diameter at mouth. Signed on bottom with artists name and Santa Clara Pueblo. Great condition.
Frances Salazar (1936-2002) was a daughter of noted potter Flora Naranjo and a sister of Glenda Naranjo and Barbara Martinez from the Santa Clara Pueblo. She was the mother of potters Elaine Salazar, Sophie Cata and Yolanda Verde. She learned to make pottery from her mother and over the years won numerous awards for her pottery at events such as Santa Fe Indian Market. (Source: Cultural Patina website)
