1) Small Santo Domingo pot by Santana Melchor (1889-1978). She was a daughter of Maria Garcia and the mother noted potter Crucita Melchor and Dolorita Melchor. She learned to make pottery from her mother, Maria Garcia. Throughout most of the 1900's she was one of the most influential Santo Domingo potters. Pot has traditional spirit break in rim. Very good condition. 2-1/8" h x 3.25" diameter. 2) Bowl, signed Annabelle Honie (1901-1980), circa 1940, Hopi, Arizona, 4" x 5" diameter 6 3/4" shows wear. This fine example of Hopi artistry, in old color and design of the era, was hand sculptured and hand painted by the artist using natural colors derived from native plant.
