Letter dated June 15, 1903 from the Joshua Hendry Machine Works in San Francisco to Harry Gorham, superintendent of the Savage Mine in Virginia City, Nevada. Hendry writes "I find it impossible to send my expert to make figures and figure out the weight of all the machinery at the Savage Mine at present time..." telling Gorham that "if you are in a hurry to dispose...and have offers to satisfy you, I would advise you to sell..." An interesting look at the last days of one of the Comstock's most famous mines, having been a heavy produced in the 1860s. The Savage was located between the Gould & Curry and the Hale & Norcross.
