Lot of 30 Ore Assay Reports for the Savage Mine in Virginia City for April 1867. Each sheet is approx. 9.5 x 7.5" It lists the Assay No., Sample Mark, and Value per Ton in Dollars and Cents. The results are reported for gold and silver content. Mills listed include: Eureka, Booth, Merimac, Empire State, De Lands, Central, Manhattan, Santiago, Savage, Rigbys, Woodworth, Mariposa, Devils Gate, Atchinson, Pioneer, Granite, Bowers, and Lemelec. This is an impressive cross section of the entire Comstock milling operations at the time. Some of the sheets are signed by CJ Robinson as assayer. This collection provides a window into the operation of one of the most famous of the Comstock Lode mines, at a period before the Bonanza Discovery in 1873. Please inspect.
