The Erongo Mountain is 20 km north of the town of Usakos in north central Namibia. Erongo mountain is 65 km in diameter and has significant mineral specimen production from pegmatite veins in and around the mountain. The schorl (black tourmaline) specimens found at Erongo Mountain rival the finest known worldwide. Erongo schorl crystals are well-formed, highly lustrous, and well collected.
