About 160 SeaFirst Corporation Sinking Fund Debentures Issued in 1976-77 and due in 2001, this company's story is rooted in stock market crashes, scandals and banking disasters. Seafirst was an American bank holding company in Seattle, Washington formed in 1929 following the Great Depression, that issued many bonds underwritten by Solomon Brothers (of the 1990s banking scandal) and, after posting huge losses from loans it purchased from the failed Penn Square Bank, was acquired by Bank of America in 1983, a victim of the "the worst recession since the Great Depression" and later party to major Federal lawsuits. This lot might be a banking disaster and securities scandal researcher's goldmine.
