Extra rare presidential commemorative CDV photo, commissioned by the White House and photographed by Mathew Brady's studio, in 1864, of "Seth Kinman, California Hunter and Trapper, who presented President Lincoln with the Elk Horn Chair." "Entered according to Act of Congress by Seth Kinman, in the year 1864, in the Clerk's office of the District Court for the District of Columbia." Photographer's logo on back: Brady's National Photographic Portrait Galleries, No. 352 Pennsylvania Av., Washington, D.C., Broadway & Tenth St., New York. Kinman, who was born in 1815, and died in 1888, was an early settler of Humboldt County, Calif., a hunter based in Fort Humboldt, a famous chair maker, and a nationally recognized entertainer.
