Sgraffito melon redware pot by Vangie Tafoya. this pot is part melon style and als etched with feather, bearpaw, kiva step and lightning designs. Incredible tonality of colors. 5.5" h x 5.5" diameter. Vangie Tafoya Jemez Pueblo/San Ildefonso Pueblo, active ca. 1982-present: polished redware, black-on-white sgraffito jars, seed pots, melon bowls, wedding vases, canteens, pitchers, and miniatures. Vangie Tafoya is the granddaughter of Maria Sanchez Colaque; wife of David Tafoya; mother of Brenda Tafoya, Helen Tafoya Henderson and Tyron Tafoya; grandmother of at least one; related to Maria Martinez.
