Lot of 4 different. 1) Memorandum of Gold Bullion, E. Lewin & Co.'s Assay Office, Shasta, 1863. Deposit of 16 ounces by CC Bush. Gold fineness 885, valued at $279.54. The net value was $275.09 after charges. Lewin ran some of the first assays on Comstock ore (Blake, 1860). C. C. Bush later ran the Bank of Shasta County at Redding. 4 x 9.5" 2) Rhodes & Lusk Express & Banking House receipt, Yreka, 1854. Draft for $100 payable to AB Sitle. Blue paper, brown print. Signed by agent Wadsworth. 4 x 7" 3) Express & Banking Office of Rhodes & Co. Yreka, 1855. Pictorial draft for Thomas Haines for $350. Signed by agent Wadsworth. 3.75 x 8.25" Rhodes also worked in Shasta and the Trinity County gold region. The company also had an office at Weaverville. 4) Weaverville & Shasta Wagon Road Company stock. Unissued. Great Conestoga wagon vignette.
