This sheath knife is marked "H.Boker &Co. Soligen" along with "Deutschland 5469" on the ricasso. For the serious knife collector this knife wears no familiar Boker-Tree brand logo therefore framing in the made date as pre-1976. There are no WW 2 German marking either; therefore the manufacture date must be between post-WW 2 and the 1970's. The knife is 10 in. overall length with a 5 1/2 in. blade. The blade is stiletto point with no fuller. The guard is polished stainless steel and only long enough to cover the thumb on the top but longer on the bottom to cover the fingers. The bolsters are real stag set with three pins of which two are brass and the front one is stainless steel. The stag bolsters are un-stabilized evidenced by the porous material near the tang. This knife appears to be un-used and is very sharp. The sheath is made of black leather with a nickel metal tip. This knife may have been made for military or official service by the use of stud-and-leather flap closures through-out. Craftsmanship is every fine. Date: Location: HWAC# 40740
