Inc. in Colorado. No. 1019, issued for 100 shares to John A. Kershaw on May 25th, 1895 in Aspen. Signed by vice-president Mill J. Carr and secretary George Eaton. Not cancelled. Brown border, black print, and vignette of big-horn sheep. Pinholes, folds, some toning. 8.25 x 11" This company operated at Crystal (now a ghost-town) in Gunnison County and built the Crystal Mill in 1893 to supply power to the mines in the area. Water from the Crystal River was dammed and used to provide electricity for air drills and ventilation for miners. The powerhouse at the mill used the flow of the Crystal River to power an air compressor, and the compressed air was piped to the mines to run pneumatic drills. The mine shut down in 1917.
