As the ship gained water in the lowest level, many of the men ran pulley and water bucket lines up through the stairways. Were these pulleys used to help rid the ship of water? Ultimately, the water came in faster than they could bail, and the boilers died, signaling the "end." 1) Ship's wood pulley on metal frame. Pulley 2.25x1.5" with degradation. Anchor frame 4x3.25x1.5" with degradation, heavier on 1 side. 2 straight edge screw heads present. 2) Very fine wood pulley wheel, 3 3/8" x 1" thick, still in fine condition. This piece was used in the sail rigging. 2014 recovery.
