There are a lot of Oscar wins in this group of two autograph cuts and two 8 x 10-inch B&W photos. First, we have two autograph cuts: one from character actor John McIntire (1907-1991), who made his mark in such films as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho and on television as wagon master Chris Hale on Wagon Train. We also have an inscribed autograph cut from Robert J. Wilke (1914-1989), who played mostly villains in movies like The Magnificent Seven and did the same in television westerns like the Wagon Train and Bonanza. On the Oscar front, we have an inscribed 8 x 10-inch B&W photo of the only actor to win three Best Supporting Actor Oscars, Walter Brennan (1894-1974). Brennan amassed 244 credits over his career, playing mostly sidekicks and cantankerous characters, scoring television success in 1957 with The Real McCoys, where he was nominated for an Emmy in 1959. Another character actor who did quite well on the Oscar front was Thomas Mitchell, who was nominated twice for Best Supporting Actor, winning in 1939 for his performance in John Ford's classic Stagecoach. This 8 x 10-inch image is a frame pull from the 1947 film High Barbaree with Van Johnson. All signatures are clear. Please see photos for more detail and condition.
