Signed letter written by anarchist political activist and writer Emma Goldman to legendary classical piano concerto and teacher Anton Rovinsky, prior to 1917 when she was jailed and then deported to Russia. Goldman was imprisoned several times, but in 1917 she was sentenced to two years in jail for conspiring to "induce persons not to register" for the newly instated draft. After her release from prison, she was arrested—along with 248 others—and deported to Russia. Blank cover has Rovinsky's New York return address, and handwritten "Emma Goldman Letter."
