A framed illustration of a bald eagle carrying a branch in its claws and a banner in its mouth. The illustration is signed by E. F. Hurlbut, a prominent resident of Pasadena, California. Edwin Fairfield Hurlbut was president of the Union Foundry Company, and was known for the large and impressive residence he built in Pasadena after moving from Chicago. He lived in Pasadena until his death in 1898. The illustration bears Hurlbut's signature in two places and is in good condition. The listed dimensions are those of the frame; the illustration itself is 5x4 inches.
