1) Silver Central Consolidated Mining Company - Devil's Gate, Lyon County, NV - Datelined San Francisco, certificate # 19 for 50 shares dated September 12th, 1863, made out to Lucien Hermann, trustee. Signed by F. Scully, President, and by Lucien Hermann, Secretary. Incorporated in January 1875 and capitalized at $11,000,000; 110,000 shares at $100 each. The claim is listed on the T. D. Parkinson 1875 map and index to the Comstock Mines as 1500 foot located between the Kossuth and Carson claims. Vignette at top right of an ore wagon being brought to the mill, a miner ready to dump an ore car and a train in the background. Gold border and black print. Uncancelled. Fair - No. 655 dated April 1, 1874, for 1000 shares to James G. Fair. Incorporated December 1873 and capitalized at $6,000,000; 60,000 shares at $100 per. Signed by Secretary L.C. Ketchem and President L. C. Dodgem. Cancelled by ink writing through center. The claim is listed on the T. D. Parkinson 1875 map and index to the Comstock Mines as two contiguous 1500-foot claims located south of the Pictou claim and lies across the Storey and Lyon County border. Note that this certificate represents an investment of $100,000, a considerable sum during that time but not for a Bonanza King like James Fair.
