According to EMJ Vol. 52, in 1891 the mine, under the direction of Albert Blow, was working to construct a double-track tunnel from California Gulch (under Iron and Breece Hills) to drain the mines and make lower-grade more accessible and less expensive to process. Leadville's own Sutro Tunnel? This was first known as the Blow Tunnel, and later the Yak Tunnel. According to the 1883 CO Mining Directory, the company owned the Silver Wave and 7 other locations plus 60 acres of additional surface ground. Issued in 1890 to DH Dougan. Signed by vice president Charles H. Grop and the secretary. None cancelled. Black border and print, underground mining vignette. "Mines located on Iron Hill, Leadville, Colorado" (printed at bottom center). Pinholes, folds, light wear. Underground mining vignette.
