Very rare; we have no records of selling this stock in (at least) the past 8 years. Inc. in Pennsylvania. No. 54, issued for 500 shares to George H. Kyd in June 1881 in Philadelphia. Signed by president G.A. Benson and secretary P.W. Janeway. Not cancelled. Black border and print. Two vignettes: bald eagle (left border) and mine/smelter (top center). Printed by Leonhardt & Son, Philadelphia. Folds, clean. 7.5 x 10.5" Owned four claims: Silver Ledge, Silver Queen, Transylvania, and Ruby Mountain. The first three were situated on the west slope of McLellan Mountain and the last on the east slope of Ruby Mountain, 3 miles from Decatur, Peru District. Located in 1880. Veins all fissures from one to 20 ft. wide; assays thirty-two percent lead and 50 ounces of silver per ton. Developments include 5 levels, one 50 ft. shaft, one 10 ft. adit, an ore-house, and a boarding house. [Ref: C&L, 1883, pg. 860]
