Stock Certificate from the Silverton Gladstone and Northerly Railroad Co., incorporated in Maine, certificate number 251, issued in August 5th, 1907, issued to E. J. Laureuee, signed by John Chipman, and Henry Soule, size 11 by 8.5 inches, in Nice condition, issued. Allegorical vignette of clothed woman in top left corner. Number 11 hole punched to indicate shares. Incorporated in ME. Chartered in 1899 by the Gold King Mining Co. to haul ore from the mines on Cement Creek to the Silverton smelters. Otto Mears and his associates had been unable to secure money to build a branch of the Silverton Northern Railroad to the mining area around the town of Gladstone. The line ran from the mainline of the Silverton Northern on the north side of Silverton, followed Cement Creek northward, and reached Gladstone, 7.5 miles. It was leased by the Silverton Northern in 1910 and absorbed by them in 1915. Dismantled between 1938 and 1942. State: Colorado City: Date: August 5th, 1907
