Vignette of meat hanging and ready to process. 4) Gillig & Mott mining and general merchandise. 1869. Vignette of building. 5-6) Gold Hill Daily News. Philip Lynch proprietor. Lynch was the original proprietor when the newspaper started on October 12, 1863. Alf Doten was his associate editor at this time. In 1872 Doten would take over the company. This newspaper was the key rival of the Territorial Enterprise on the Comstock.
