Very early 1860's Arizona mining stock certificate. # 38 for 10 shares to F Scott Stewart. Signed by Robert Polk and WF Walton. Dateline San Francisco 1864. Incorporated Feb. 12, 1864. 25c Power of Att'y Revenue Stamp. Location: San Francisco District, Skinner Lode. The Skinner Lode was in the Silver Creek area of the Oatman District (also known as the San Francisco District). Not cancelled. Skinner portrait vignette. Harrison & Co. printer. The California Infantry stationed at Fort Mohave. Captain John Moss, Captain John Hardy and partner Frank Skinner had done well while serving at the fort in 1863. It is said Moss extracted $200,000 before selling to a San Francisco group for $78.000. This was always the best find and this certificate seems to be trying to catch onto this fame.
