Maroon border, ornate title and allegorical vignette. 7 x 10.75" ABN. Folds, pinholes. Joseph F. Johnston would later become governor of Alabama. In 1899, it was reported they had properties in six counties in Alabama, the majority in Jefferson, 60,000 acres. They also operated four furnaces. According to the article, it was the first company to send American pig iron to Europe.
