Small porthole with glass in metal frame. Recovered by the project in 1987 from Site 87, not the SS Central America. The artifacts from this shipwreck are from a similar era. Although not from the SSCA, nevertheless it is an impressive deep-sea shipwreck artifact. Frame is spade shaped and has a 2x3"oval closing latch and 7 screws. Glass frame is 6.25" wide. Bottom hinge is 4.5" long. Frame has 8x .25" attachment holes. Hinge pin has .5" section degraded. Thick glass has .75" internal crack. Overall frame is 11.5x9.5".
