Original Smith Bros. box dated 1876. Incredible vignette on the front of the "Esmeralda Co., Nev." works, which would have been his large works at Columbus Marsh just north of Tonopah and south of Candelaria. Borax Smith and his brother were successful borax miners that turned into a fortune. They became the Pacific Coast Borax Co. Not even the National Park Service at Death Valley has this box in their collection. folded on original fold lines, 4 x 6.5"
