Smoking jacket or robe recovered from the Easton trunk found at the shipwreck of the S.S. Central America. This item was found inside a trunk known to have been owned by passengers Ansel and Adeline Easton. Thought to be made of silk, with evidence of a combination of hand stitching and fine machine stitching. The original floral pattern is distinctly East Asian and almost certainly identifies it as imported fabric.

This item was displayed at various shows in the US during the summer of 2022. It comes with its own custom-made plexiglas case, disassembled and ready for shipping.

Provenance: SS Central America Collection
