Very rare; we have no records of selling this in (at least) the past 8 years. Inc. in New York. Low certificate no. 12, issued for 100 shares to company president (and likely namesake) E.L. Snow on July 3rd, 1879 in New York. Signed by Snow and secretary Wagetiff. Not cancelled. Black print on yellow paper. Small allegorical vignette. Printed by Chas. F. Ketchman, NY. 5.5 x 10" Deep folds, clean. Not listed in Corbett or C&L. Fossett (1880) mentions the company operating in the Howard's Fork district of Ouray County. He says they have a sawmill at Hoffman and are building a 20-stamp gold quartz mill and smelter with three blast furnaces and an Acme furnace. "Considerable gold is produced as well as silver." (Fossett, 1880, pg. 550). According to The Colorado Daily Chieftain (December 16, 1879), HC Justice is superintendent of the company operating at the new town of Hoffman, 18 miles west from Silverton. He is in town to buy machinery for their smelter which will process 80 tons of ore per day. Also, an article the following year in Silver World (Volume 6, Number 20, November 20, 1880) says JW Wilson, a veteran metallurgist and engineer, has been employed for the company the past year erecting an Acme smelter at San Miguel.
