These two frames, each approximately 18x24 inches in size, display copies of promotional information for the Society of Medallists, which was established by Medallic Art Company in 1930 as a subscription series for medallic artwork. Two designs were produced every year using designs by renowned medallic sculptors. One frame is a black and white copy of the catalog of the 95 issues from 1930 to the first half of 1977. The obverse and reverse designs of each issue are shown with the year and the name of the sculptor/designer. The second frame introduces the non-profit Society of Medallists and its mission to "develop and encourage appreciation of medallic sculpture created by talented American artists and to make this form of the fine arts available to the collector at reasonable cost." Each May and November, a new 2 7/8-inch diameter piece was issued to subscribers. This frame also shows eight members of the Society which includes noted sculptors, industry leaders, and Oregon Senator Mark Hatfield. These items are a historical record and catalog of the early days of the Society of Medallists and were part of unsold material that remained after the liquidation of Northwest Territorial Mint.
