Linen backed map on rollers, 60" wide, 30" high. 600 feet to the inch. Chas. W. Miller, Eng. Litho by Colton, New York. At right is a legend regarding the Aspen silver district. At top are adhered two original photos of the same vintage as the map of bird's-eye views of Aspen. The map has no geographic coordinates, and north is caddywampus NNE, allowing the map to cover the necessary mining claims without being standard north "up". At center of the bottom is an inset of the Frying Pan district alsong Lime Creek and the Frying Pan River. Aspen proper is at the far right along the Roaring Fork River. The map is early for the district, showing surveyed mining claims with survey numbers, but no patent numbers.
