Lot of two. 1) No. 233, issued for 1913 to L.A. Downs (supt. of Illinois Central Railroad). Signed by the general manager. Endorsed by Downs. Printed on yellow cardstock by Rand McNally & Co. Some soiling and adhesive remnants on reverse. 2) No. 278, issued for 1915 to F.C. Matthews (Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad). Countersigned by E.L. Hanson. Endorse by Matthews. Cardstock. Minor toning. Construction began in 1904, and the line ran between Sioux Falls and Watertown. Frederick Maytag was one of the investors.
