Mine seems to have never really gotten off the ground and was silent by 1870. EARLY # 9 for 20 shares to H Farrier. Signed by Charles Kellogg and president Hiram Tubbs. Dateline San Francisco 1869. Incorporated April 20, 1869. Located White Pine district. Allegorical vignette covered by 25c revenue stamp. Frank Eastman printer. Hiram Tubbs (1824-1897) was a well-to-do businessman who lived in East Oakland in the 1800s. He arrived in California in 1853. He and his brothers created the Tubbs Cordage Company selling ropes to mining companies. His is credited with the Oakland, Brooklyn and Fruitvale Railroad, a street car system that ran up 12th Street to 13th Avenue and for twenty years it was the only connection to East Oakland other than 7th Street. He's known for creating the Tubbs Hotel, a luxurious hotel that stood at 5th Avenue and East 12th Street, and also as one of the founders of Mountain View Cemetery.
