Choice. Stock certificate No. 74 issued to Wilson Dunlap for 5 shares in 1868. Signed by the president and secretary. Not cancelled. The company was incorporated March 19, 1864, pre-Nevada statehood, and was located on the Comstock Ledge, Gold Hill District. Storey County, Nevada Territory. One adhesive revenue stamp on the left side of the certificate, missing the Nevada stamp. Another vignette of an eagle with stars, flags, and a banner reading "Plurbis Unum" in the top center. Small vignette of dog on bottom. According to the 1870 Nevada census, Dunlap was a bookkeeper. Even more interesting, his name pops-up in the Jan. 19, 1874 Sacramento Daily Union: "Wilson Dunlap, the absconding stock-broker of Gold Hill, returned to his old stamping ground on the 14th instant, involuntarily."
