Old Leather Bound Scrapbook filled with newspaper clippings featuring Rose bowl stories, photographs, cartoons, headlines and more, covering 1950-1952 Pasadena area events. Publications include the Los Angeles Examiner, the Metroplitan Pasadena Star-News, Los Angeles Evening Herald & Express, The Pasadena Independent and others. An original Rose Bowl ticket stub is affixed to one page followed by many color programs including several copies of "The Huddle" (the official program for all home games of the Pasadena City College Bulldogs), a 1952 Program for the 38th Rose Bowl published by Stanford University Department of Athletics, a Pictorial California 64 page Souvenir Book from Jack McElroy's "Welcome to Hollywood", compliments of the Union Pacific Railroad, a Los Angeles County Fair Program from Pomona, and much more. This scrapbook belonged to Joan McDonald, who lived on Mailton Ave in Pasadena. Ms. McDonald attended John Marshall Junior High School in Pasadena in 1951, and her heavily signed yearbooks are also included. Other clippings show support for Governor Adlai Stevenson and a button for Adlai for the 20th Congressional District is pinned to one page. Another program for the Sheriffs' Annual Rodeo on August 26, 1951 presented by the Sheriffs' Relief Association of L.A. County at the L.A. memorial Coliseum features Gene Autry on the front cover and includes admission ticket stub. A View Book of World Famous Mount Wilson with 50 Beautiful Photographs and "Interesting Authoritative Descriptions" compiled by Glenn C. Moore is featured on the final page of this classic piece of Americana. 20-30 complete printed publications in mint condition, all from 1950-1952 Pasadena and surrounding areas, in addition to the dozens of newspaper clippings covering current events and Pasadena area news. This is a treasure trove of memorabilia from iconic mid-century America. Scrapbook pages are brittle and crumbling, but the book did it's job and preserved the content inside.
